Medical Affairs Innovation Manager

Our client is a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company whose innovative medicines are used by millions of patients worldwide. The pipeline of this company forms a robust portfolio of experimental therapies in varied stages of clinical development. They focus on the discovery, development, and commercialization of medicines in Oncology and Biopharmaceuticals, including Cardiovascular, Renal, & Metabolism as well as Respiratory & Immunology.

For the Belux, they are looking for a senior Medical Affairs Innovations Manager CVRM.

The role is newly created and is responsible for creating the bridge between internal strategy and medical activities in the field and for bringing innovation and disruption into medical affairs. A key focus will be building scientific partnerships with Key External Experts (KEE) through co-creating and leading specific medical affairs projects, thereby removing barriers and delivering value for patients and the healthcare system. The role typically interacts with a target list of KEE driven by a clear customer-centric objective, whereby customer insights are gained, patient journeys created, gaps and needs uncovered, followed by the development of specific medical projects to overcome these. In mapping the customer’s needs and insights, the person will work closely with the medical science liaisons (MSLs). The function has both internal and in the field activities, where the percentage is dependent on the life cycle of the product, and the needs.

Who is the candidate we are looking for?

  • Medical scientific degree
  • Experience in and knowledge of pharmaceutical medical and marketing processes
  • Experience in launching a new drug/collaborating with market access is a plus
  • At least 3 years of experience in a medical affairs role in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Significant and robust experience with searching, handling, assimilating, synthesizing, reporting and presenting scientific data in the healthcare sector
  • National mobility and flexibility (organisation and attendance of evening meetings)
  • Knowledge of therapeutic area or the ability to acquire this knowledge rapidly
  • Medical integrity and ethical balance
  • Languages: Fluent French, Dutch and English
